The points selected to Acupuncture Frozen Shoulder are mostly from small intestine meridian, especially SI-9 through SI-12 which passes through shoulder area. At the shoulder capsule attachment zone the key point SI-12 is selected to Acupuncture Frozen Shoulder. Acupuncture point is the indentation which can be located by raising the arm. This key point eliminates the shoulder pain along with difficulty to raise arms.

An effective treatment shared by a doctor is the focus on one acupressure point GB-34. This is located on the leg, this single point is better than treating multiple pressure points. The same side that of the affected shoulder is selected to Acupuncture Frozen Shoulder. Sometimes when the pain continues to persist, the needle is applied to the pressure point on the other leg.

Another method to Acupuncture Frozen Shoulder is deep insertion and then rotation and thrust. For normal patients reducing technique is adopted, whereas for patients with deficiency both reducing technique and reinforcing technique is employed. To maintain stimulus the needle is maneuvered every 3 to 5 minutes. The patients are advised to move the joints of the shoulders.

The needle retention duration is thirty minutes for each day. Five continuous days treatment forms one course to Acupuncture Frozen Shoulder. Some times when two courses are recommended, after one course of five days break is given for the treatment for a day or two and then the next course is continued. The frequency of treatment is also reduced every other day until the pain is totally relieved.
